Like a lot of adoptees, Julie Coppens (she/her) is a shape-shifter, having played many roles over a long career in theatre, journalism, nonprofit leadership, and parenting. She produced the student podcast Democracy & Z and the “What Does Justice Look Like?” YouTube series for Cincinnati Public Radio; previously she served on the national publications staff of the Educational Theatre Association, as an editor of Dramatics magazine and director of the Thespian Playworks competition and workshop for high school writers. In between came a seven-year stint in Alaska, where she led youth programming and communications at Perseverance Theatre, among other creative projects.
This photo was taken in the summer of 2015, on the day her mom Joan (left), now deceased, met her birth mom Kathy for the first time.

which turned out to be a first draft for The Stork Files.

Victoria Hawley is a performer, writer, and educator based in Cincinnati. Some of her favorite performance credits include The Wolves and Antigone (born against) at Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati, and A Small Fire at Falcon Theatre. Victoria wrote, produced, and performed in the one-act play, All We Have Borne, at the 2018 Cincinnati Fringe Festival, where it was named a Cincinnati CityBeat Critic’s Pick. Her ten-minute play, Falsework, premiered in early 2020 as a staged reading in Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati’s Studio Series. She is over the moon to be returning to wonderfully weird world of Cincy Fringe, and deeply grateful to Julie for including her in this exciting project.
